PUBLIC SPEAKING TRAINING IN THE FRAMEWORK OF INCREASING JOURNALIST COMPETENCE IN SURABAYA

Today's journalists are required to have good competence and broad insight. Not only be able write factual information, but also a public speaking skills. However, there still many who do not master so they often face some obstacles. They proficient at finding information in the field, nervous or insecure when dealing with other people sources, interviews become unstructured directed. A journalist is asked speaker seminar, training, workshop, since used speak public, presentation of material becomes less interesting. In fact, journalism profession that expected forefront society must loudly, truthfully, honestly, courageously. Having skills can increase confidence conveying ideas, as well providing education motivation. Because an important competency, Communication Department held community service activity entitled "Public Speaking Training Increasing Journalist Competence Surabaya" on 13th 20th October 2022, Urban Office Surabaya. The training was attended by members Friends Education Journalists (JSP) community.
